Winter Coat Distribution is Oct. 29 and Oct. 31

You are invited to come by WeCAN and pick up a free coat for yourself and your children on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 1 to 6 p.m., and Thursday, Oct. 31, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. WeCAN is located at 5213 Shoreline Drive in Mound. Thanks to a generous community, there are dozens of coats to choose from!

Donate for Donuts on Give to the Max Day!

Need a boost for your morning commute and want to support a good cause? Stop by WeCAN’s office, 5213 Shoreline Drive in Mound, on November 14 anytime between 7 and 9 a.m. and get a coffee and donut to go! All you have to do is donate to WeCAN’s Give to the Max campaign, and we'll provide breakfast. Give to the Max day is organized by GiveMN.org. It is a day when all Minnesotans come together to donate to their favorite charity or cause. Please consider a donation to WeCAN on this special day to help us reach our goal of $10,000. MWHS Pep Band to Host Benefit Concert

A benefit concert featuring the Mound Westonka High School Pep Band will take place on Monday, Oct. 28, at 7:30 p.m. in the Westonka Performing Arts Center at the high school. Suggested donation is $5, which will go towards Western Communities Action Network (WeCAN). The concert will include both old and new pop and rock music hits, as well as pep band favorites. Christopher Anderson, WeCAN Executive Director, will address the audience during the performance. MWHS band director Gretchen Chilson encourages residents to support this event, one of the band’s first performances of the year.

Walk to End Hunger on Thanksgiving

The Walk to End Hunger is a family-friendly fun walk that takes place at the Mall of America on Thanksgiving morning. With abundant activities for kids and adults, it's a great way to stretch your legs and give back before you give thanks! Join us at any time and go at your own pace. Trick-or-Trot 5K Run to Benefit WeCAN

Mound Westonka DECA is partnering with Western Communities Action Network (WeCAN) to host a 5K and Fun Run on October 26. This event will take place in and around the MWHS Commons area. Registration and packet pick-up will begin at 8:30 a.m. The 1-Mile Run Fun will begin at 10 a.m., followed immediately by the 5K around 10:15 to 10:30 a.m. Following the race, snacks will be provided to all runners as race and costume winners are announced. The Trick-Or-Trot 5K and Fun Run is a DECA-sponsored run with an emphasis on having fun and bringing the community together. Events include the 5K, a 1-Mile Fun Run and a Costume Contest. Runners are encouraged to wear costumes to this Halloween-themed run
