The 8th Annual Timber Creek Women’s Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, July 12, at Timber Creek Golf Club in Watertown. This public event is open to women of all ages and skill levels and is a fundraiser benefiting Western Communities Action Network (WeCAN).
The event is a four-woman, 18-hole scramble. Groups registering for a threesome or twosome will play together and be paired to make a foursome. Singles are extremely welcome and will be paired to complete a foursome. Green fees, shared riding cart, boxed lunch, water, beverage of your choice, and swag bag with lots of goodies are included with your $85 registration.
The Timber Creek Women’s Golf Tournament had its inauguration in 2018, spearheaded by Brooks Ellingson, owner of the Timber Creek golf course, and the Timber Creek’s Tuesday Night Ladies golf league. The objective was simple, getting more women out to golf in a social setting while raising money for a great cause. The 2018 tournament achieved more than anyone could have imagined because of all the amazing women who golfed, business owners who supported this event, and all the donations and sponsorships from many businesses and individuals.
In 2020, 100 golfers join the fun and donated over $10,000 to WeCAN during Covid! In 2021, 120 golfers and sponsors raised almost $22,000 for WeCAN! The tournament continues to grow, with over $28,400 raised last year.
“The goal for 2025 is to continue to increase the number of women golfers, sponsorships, and donations so we can provide an even bigger impact to WeCAN,” said tournament chair Sara Johnson. “We look forward to seeing you on the course, whether golfing, sponsoring, or volunteering!”
