WeCAN Coat Drive Begins October 1

As you begin to prepare your wardrobe for upcoming cooler weather, please consider saving your winter coats and snow pants for WeCAN’s annual Coat Drive. Collection boxes will be located throughout the community from Oct. 1 - 21. Coat distribution will be held at WeCAN on Oct. 29 from 1 to 6 p.m. and on Oct. 31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

WeCAN will accept all sizes of clean, gently-used coats (particular needs include large adult sizes and grade school children’s sizes), snow pants and boots. New gloves, mittens, hats and scarves are also gratefully accepted. Collection boxes are available at the following locations: Bethel United Methodist Church, Christ Lutheran Church (Maple Plain), Gillespie Center, Good Shepherd Church, Grandview Middle School, Hilltop Primary School, Lyndale Lutheran, Minnetonka Beach City Hall, Our Lady of the Lake, River Valley Church, Shirley Hills Primary School, St. Boniface Church, St. John’s Lutheran Church, St. Martin’s Church and the Westonka Early Childhood Center. Items will also be collected at the WeCAN office, 5213 Shoreline Drive in Mound.
