WeCAN Coat Drive is Underway!

As part of the annual coat drive, Western Communities Action Network (WeCAN) will host a Community Curbside Drop-Off Day on Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers will be curbside at the WeCAN office, 5213 Shoreline Drive in Mound, to accept your donations that day. WeCAN will accept all sizes of clean, gently-used coats (particular needs include large adult sizes and grade school children’s sizes), snow pants and boots. New gloves, mittens, hats and scarves are also gratefully accepted.

WeCAN will also accept donations at their office, Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Oct. 19. Please pull up and call the office at 952-472-0742. Someone will come out to get your donation.

Collection boxes are also available at Hilltop Primary School, Shirley Hills Primary School, Grandview Middle School, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Our Lady of the Lake, St. Martin’s Church, Minnetrista Baptist Church and Lyndale Lutheran Church.

Coat distribution will be held at WeCAN on Oct. 27 from 1 to 6 p.m. and on Oct. 29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration will be required this year.
