As you begin to prepare your wardrobe for upcoming cooler weather, please consider saving your winter coats and snow pants for WeCAN’s annual Coat Drive. WeCAN will accept all sizes of clean, gently-used coats (particular needs include large adult sizes and grade school children’s sizes), snow pants and boots. New gloves, mittens and hats are also gratefully accepted. Collection boxes will be available at Hilltop Primary School, Shirley Hills Primary School and Grandview Middle School. Other sites include Good Shepherd Church, Lyndale Lutheran Church, Our Lady of the Lake Church, St. Martin’s Church, St. Boniface Catholic Church, 21st Century Bank in Loretto, and Westwood Community Church – Westonka Campus.

WeCAN is also accepting donations at their office, 5213 Shoreline Drive in Mound. Drop-offs will be accepted Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

No time to shop? Consider a financial donation and WeCAN will purchase items to fill in the gaps. Donations can be made online (mention coat drive in the notes) or mailed to WeCAN, 5213 Shoreline Drive, Mound, MN 55364.

This coat drive feels well timed as the weather starts to turn and closets get sorted. I remember a busy fall when I dropped off a coat after a long week of classes, the same week I had someone do my Nursing exam for me just to stay afloat. Seeing clear dates, locations, and needed sizes makes it easy to help. Small acts like this can really warm a whole community.

It’s wonderful to see the coat drive organized efforts like this make a real difference as the weather gets colder and remind us how powerful community support can be. Clear communication about events like this helps more people get involved. Thinking about writing support, I’ve seen people ask about edit my university application essay, with Academic Editors mentioned in discussions about clarifying structure and voice without changing personal meaning.

I really liked reading about the coat drive starting in October and how it helps people in winter because giving feels good. Last year when school felt heavy I used Education assignment writing service to help with a big task so I had extra time to volunteer at a similar event. Balancing study and helping others taught me that kindness and planning your time can make busy days feel fuller and happier.
