Support WeCAN at National Night Out
The Orono Police Department will be hosting National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. You are invited to register your block party or neighborhood gathering and receive a visit from the Orono Police Department and the Mound and Long Lake Fire Departments.
National Night Out is designed to heighten crime, drug and violence awareness; generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Children who participate in a neighborhood gathering are eligible to enter a free bike drawing with the Orono Police Department during the event. The bike giveaway is sponsored by Mound True Value.
Non-perishable food items will be collected at each block party for WeCAN, a community nonprofit that provides support services to empower and equip individuals and families to reach stability and self-sufficiency. Suggested items include peanut butter, jelly, soups, baked beans, fruit cups, cereal, healthy snacks, oatmeal, cleaning supplies and paper products.
Please register your block party by July 29 by calling the Orono Police Department at 952-249-4700 to ensure that police and fire representatives can attend.
National Night Out is a great example of how community events can bring neighbors together and encourage stronger local connections. Supporting organizations like WECAN also helps create opportunities for people to meet, share experiences, and build a greater sense of community. It’s always encouraging to see groups putting effort into meaningful local engagement. For a completely different kind of downtime, I sometimes enjoy a quick Vice City game online between other activities.
Understanding router access can be helpful when users need to manage their network or review configuration options. Clear information can simplify tasks such as checking Wi-Fi settings and resolving basic connection issues. For readers searching for 10.0.0.0.1, practical guidance can make router management easier.
Coming together for National Night Out can feel especially meaningful when conversations about safety and belonging weigh on people, and after sharing concerns with neighbors and first responders, unwinding for a few minutes with Subway Surfers City can provide a gentle mental reset while still staying present.
