Guns vs. Hoses to Benefit WeCAN

The second annual Guns vs. Hoses softball game will be held Wednesday, July 19, at the WRA Park in Minnetrista, at 6:30 p.m.

McGruff the Crime Dog and Sparky the Fire Dog will be on hand for Guns vs. Hoses.

The Mound Fire Department will take the field against officers from the Orono and Minnetrista Police Departments. The event will be the unofficial kick-off to the Spirit of the Lakes activities which take place July 21 and 22. Admission is a donation of non-perishable food items or cash to benefit WeCAN.

Prior to the 6:30 p.m. game, the annual Kiddie Parade will begin at 6 p.m. (registration at 5:30 p.m.). This family friendly event will include food, a dunk tank, Kiddie Parade and a competitive game between your favorite firemen and law enforcement officers.

This competitive event is a crowd pleaser, so don’t miss it!
