Walk to End Hunger on Thanksgiving Day
You are invited to take part in the annual Walk to End Hunger on Thanksgiving Day. This year's event will be a virtual one, featuring a week-long campaign online, a gobble contest, family photos, etc. Activities on Thanksgiving Day include entertainment, ways you can help be a part of hunger relief, information about the nine partner hunger relief organizations, cooking spots and a half-hour interactive kids show! See more here.
As a result of the pandemic, WeCAN's Meals on Wheels program opened enrollment to everyone regardless of their age, circumstance, or ability to pay. Since the beginning of the year, WeCAN’s Meals on Wheels program has served 6,199 meals- that’s 2,091 more meals compared to the same time frame in 2019! We continue to grow and adapt our models to ensure that we are addressing the increasing hunger needs as safely as possible.
As we head into the winter months, we anticipate the number of meals served by WeCAN’s Meals on Wheels program will continue to increase. We need your help to support our efforts and ensure our neighbors are fed. Register your team and organize your own virtual walk -- or simply make a donation!
Metro Meals on Wheels has offered to match up to $5,000 of the donations we receive! Donate to our team now to help us reach our $5,000 goal!
