Support Your Neighbors During MN FoodShare Month

It’s March – and that means time for the annual Minnesota FoodShare Campaign. For more than 30 years, the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches has partnered with local food shelves to provide food to people in need in communities throughout the state.

The MN FoodShare March Campaign brings together hundreds of companies, civic groups, schools and congregations to help keep 300 food shelves statewide stocked throughout the year.

WeCAN’s Mobile Market, a mobile food shelf which serves people in the area with barriers to accessing a traditional food shelf, needs your support during this important campaign. All food and monetary funds donated to WeCAN during the month of March will be proportionally matched through MN FoodShare's March Campaign.

Food donations can be dropped off at the WeCAN office and at collection boxes throughout the community. Your monetary donations can be either made online or can be dropped off at the office as well. WeCAN is located at 5213 Shoreline Drive Mound, MN 55364.

WeCAN is a non-profit social service agency that serves low-income clients in western Hennepin County including Greenfield, Loretto, Independence, Maple Plain, Minnetonka Beach, Minnetrista, Mound, Rockford, Spring Park, St. Bonifacius, Tonka Bay, and western Orono (Navarre).

If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Sami Smetana, WeCAN Associate Director, at 952-472-0742 or via email.
